As you enter the town Bekjarvik, Norway by boat- the only way to get to this small island town- this is the scene you are greeted with. Life on the richest island in the richest country in the world is decidedly slow. When there, I attended a celebration for the owner of the hotel I stayed at. The party was outside, despite temperatures around 40 degrees Farenheit, and the menu included fish (the main source of income for most of Bekjarvik's people) and grilled whale. Norway is only one of two countries in the world where hunting whale is legal.

I had a chance to go fishing while there, which literally consisted of putting a line without bait into the water, and then towing the bare hooks behind the boat. Talk about a rich ecosystem.

Anyway, owning this print gives one a great chance to be transported to another place, if even for just one moment- something we all could use a bit more of in our fast-paced lives!
